Christopher
Gonzalez Christopher Gonzalez is the managing partner
of the Business/Corporate & Civil
Law Group where his practice focuses on business, corporate and
civil matters.
He currently serves as a member of the management
team as General/Special Counsel of several Internet ventures
and “brick and mortar” business
organizations. His clientele ranges from individuals, start-up
ventures and privately held family to international corporations,
where he was engaged to serve as special counsel to corporate
boards of directors and to independent committees of corporate
boards of directors.
Christopher currently serves as Special
General Counsel for a leading worldwide entity in web site
hosting, serving over 150,000 members with affordable, reliable
web
hosting solutions (www.iPowerWeb.com). His
representation covers all aspects of the business, including,
mergers and acquisitions, electronic commerce, strategic partnerships
and alliances and other technological matters. He also provides
a combination of broad litigation and transactional experience
with in-depth knowledge and expertise on Internet related issues.
Christopher served as the Director of Legal Operations and General
Counsel of iBoost Technology, Inc. (www.iBoost.com), a Softbank Venture Capital
portfolio company. Mr. Gonzalez was responsible for all of the
company's legal affairs, including all operational agreements,
mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities
matters. Christopher was with the company since its inception.
At iBoost, Christopher managed, controlled and directed the company’s
fast-paced legal team. His practice focused on mergers and acquisitions,
electronic commerce, strategic partnerships and alliances, other
technological matters and counsels the company in all legal matters
related to the operation of it’s Internet vast network of properties.
Christopher provided corporate and legal support to management
and the board of directors. His representation extended from
venture capital to M&As and transactional matters that regularly
faced the company in pursuing success on the Internet arena.
Christopher also served as General Counsel to B.N. Technology,
Inc. (www.icom.com; Interliant,
Inc. NASDAQ: INIT; www.interliant.com)
where his practice centrally focused on Internet related matters.
Moreover, Christopher has acted as counsel to, a director of,
and shareholder in, a number of development-stage companies in
the venture capital business. He was a founding stockholder and
chairman of Globat, Inc., an Internet media and targeted advertising
brokerage services/software Firm. He acts as a legal consultant
for start-ups, brick and mortar enterprises that desire to expand
onto the Internet and existing Internet businesses.
Christopher also counsels businesses in the start-up stages
that entrepreneurs face, including business plan development,
first round funding procurement and business implementation.
Consistent with the creation of growth/technology practice groups
and the dot.com world, Christopher has developed his skills from
numerous disciplines to mold into a specialized dot.com practitioner.
Outside of the technology world, he served as General and Special
Legal Counsel to corporations, governmental and public agencies
(Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority, Los Angeles
Community College District, Rio Hondo Community College District,
Richgrove School District, Oxnard School District, Sacramento
Unified School District, South Bay Regional Public Communications
Authority, County of San Bernardino).
In the community, Mr. Gonzalez currently
serves as a director of, among others, Ladies Professional
Golf Association (LPGA)

and the Manny Mota International Foundation (Los Angeles Dodgers) http://www.mannymotafoundation.org).
Mr. Gonzalez received his B.A. degree from
the University of California, Santa Barbara and his law degree
from Whittier Law
School, where he served on the Whittier Law Review and as President
of the Hispanic American Law Students Association (H.A.L.S.A.).
During law school, Mr. Gonzalez studied international law in
Madrid, Spain at the College of William & Mary School of
Law, Colegio Mayor Universitario San Pablo.
Mr. Gonzalez is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association,
American Bar Association, Mexican American Bar Association and
the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Gonzalez
is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to practice
before the Supreme Court of the State of California, the United
States District Court of the Central District of California and
the United States Court of Appeals of the Ninth Circuit.
